Pro Bono: Transformative Design
Architects can use their knowledge and skills to create situations that have a direct impact on living space and act as a social catalyst. They are active designers of community; their attitude influences the present and future of places and societies. It is of great concern to us that students use their skills to actively participate in the common good. In the required Pro Bono module of the curriculum, for 6 ECTS, students deal intensively with social engagement and action research.
Pro Bono projects are an essential part of the curriculum and consist of three phases:
- in the concept phase, ideas are developed and analyses are carried out;
- in the execution phase, the ideas are translated into reality;
- the reflection phase is used by the students to synthesize learnings from the process.
This module is led by Cornelia Faißt and Daniel Haselsberger.
